Construction of the World's Tallest Bridge, Huajiang Gorge Bridge, Enters the Final Stage
The Huajiang Gorge Bridge, a steel truss suspension bridge, is located at the junction of Guanling Autonomous County and Zhenfeng County in Qiannan, Guizhou. It is a key control project for the Liu'an Expressway. The bridge is 2,890 meters long, with a main span of 1,420 meters, and a height of 625 meters above the water surface. Once completed, it will surpass the North Panjiang Bridge on the Hangrui Expressway to become the "world's tallest bridge," and also the longest span bridge in mountainous areas.
The construction progress of the bridge has reached 98.5%, with the final phase underway. It is expected to open to traffic by the end of September this year. Currently, the main tower painting and road markings are progressing in an orderly manner. At the same time, a range of bridge tourism integration projects, including a comprehensive service area, cliff hotels, bridge pier murals, sightseeing elevators, and a bridge-top café, are also being developed. Once completed, the bridge will become a new cultural and tourism landmark that combines transportation, sightseeing, and leisure.
