On November 14th, the calligraphy and painting exhibition to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the reform and opening up was held at Zhongshan Gallery. The exhibition was held by Anshun Municipal Party Committee and co-organized by Zhongshan Gallery of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang Anshun Municipal Committee. Mei Shisong, deputy director of the Standing Committee of Anshun Municipal People’s Congress and chairman of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang, Anshun Municipal Committee, attended the exhibition.
In the exhibition, more than 80 works including calligraphy, Chinese ink painting and oil painting were exhibited. Some of the works were made by painters who have been engaged in professional painting and calligraphy for decades, while some were created by amateurs who have just stepped onto the road of painting and calligraphy enthusiasts after retirement. Meanwhile, the younger generation of calligraphy and painting lovers also did great jobs. Among all the artists, the oldest is more than 90 years old and the youngest is only in his early twenties. These calligraphy works were bold and sturdy, and the paintings were fine-grained and ingenious. Many of the artists used the important events, touching stories and huge changes in the process of reform and opening up as the theme. With different styles and different focuses, these works gave an all-round description of the remarkable changes in Anshun during the 40 years of reform and opening up.
